This and That

Abby and I went to Sam's Club on Saturday. I picked up a pair of shorts (fitting clothes are sorely lacking in my closet these days). The shorts weren't anything fancy and Abigail was not pleased with my selection.

Abby: Those aren't very pretty.

Me: Well, Abigail, that isn't a very nice thing to say. Why would you say that?

Abby: Because I want you to be pretty.

Hard to argue with that logic, I guess.

While attempting to leave the house Sunday afternoon, Anni put on her sweatshirt and commanded me to zip it. I gave her The Look, which generally implies, "And what do we say when we want something? How do we ask nicely?" Anni's response to The Look?

She nodded her head vigorously and said, "YEAH!"
