Today was Abby's school day. One of the activities was play dough. The teacher put out a bunch of play dough and some other implements for the kids to use. Abby's favorite was the scissors. Now, for those of you who haven't seen a toddler use scissors recently, it's probably the funniest freakin' thing you've seen in a long time. Abby was uber amusing today; both for me and for the other parents. She was concentrating very hard on the cutting. We say, "Open. Close. Open. Close." That way she knows what to do with her fingers. Well, in addition to the opening and closing of the scissors, Miss Abigail had her mouth wide open on the "open" and closed it on the "close". And this went on for quite some time. She was definitely the amusement factor of class today.
Anni was in the playroom today and there were 3 teachers in the room today, as most of the kids in the playroom on Wednesdays are kids Anni's age and younger. Well, all three teachers went out of their way to tell me what a sweet baby Anni was, what a good temperament she has, and generally what a delight she is. And I didn't hear them saying anything like that to the other parents. That's right...my kid's a joy and yours...isn't. :)

Tiny Tot Monday
Today was Anni's school day and Abby got to go to the playroom. Both girls love going to school and don't seem to mind one way or the other if they're in the playroom or the classroom. They have tons of fun in both places.
Anni made a turkey today. Well, she stuck some double-sided tape on a turkey cutout, attempted to stick some feathers to said tape and did some really good marker scribbling on the turkey. And not too much scribbling on the table. It's a darn good turkey if I do say so myself!
This weekend, the four of us made the sojourn out to Marietta, MN; the Schmidt family farm. The girls got some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa and didn't get too bent out of shape when Daddy left to do some hunting. They got to visit the elk a little bit, sat on Grandpa's lap every time he sat down, played with Grandma's friend Cathy's grand kids and just generally enjoyed the change of scenery. They'll get a long weekend out there in another two weeks when we head out for Thanksgiving weekend. That weekend they'll get to go to a party too! Grandma's friend Cathy is having a birthday party and we're all invited!

Out of the Mouths of Babes
The girls know Dana goes to work every morning. Sometimes Abby gets a chance to go with Dana, if he's doing measures or something along those lines. After she went along a couple times, however, she started to think she got to go to work with daddy all the time. So, we had to tell her that sometimes she has to stay home and work with mom.
This morning she told me, "I work mom today. In laundry room."
Gulp!
