This afternoon's conversation between the girls:
Abby: I went poop!
Anni: Doggie poop?
Abby: No, not doggie poop.
Anni: I see it?
Abby: Sure!
Anni: I touch it?
Abby: No! We don't touch poop!
Anni: Oh, otay. We don't touch it. You got more poop?
Abby: Sure!
Anni: Oh yay! You got more poop! Good job Abigail!
At least they cheer for each other, right?

Duckie
Abigail is really starting to get into the idea of the new baby. She's always asking me if she can rock the baby and I'm mercilessly using the baby as a means of potty training Abigail. I keep telling her she's going to have to teach the baby how to use the potty, so she's got to get trained herself. Abby seems to think this is a fabulous idea, luckily.
Abby's also decided the baby's name. She's named "her" (she's also decided the baby is a girl) Duckie.

Scuse You!
Whenever I tell Anni to say, "Excuse me!" she happily complies and replies:
Scuse you!
Scuse you!

2 Days Down, 5 to Go
It's just the girls and I this week. On Friday, Dana celebrates his 40th birthday and he will be doing it with the walleye up in the BWCA. The girls and I thought this was a good Father's Day present for him this year. He works so hard and deserved a good break. And he better be enjoying every stinking second of it. :)
So, the girls and I are trying to keep our days filled. On Sunday we did some errands and laundry at Nana and Papa's house (our dryer is on the fritz). Today we just hung out at home, did some straightening up around the house, played with dolls, watched some cartoons and were relatively mellow.
Our Anni seems to be coming down with a bug, which doesn't surprise me in the least. And our Abigail is being difficult on the potty training. Again, par for the course. The girls were supposed to have a play date with their friend Isabella tomorrow, but with the bug in Anni's tummy, I thought it best to cancel our plans. I'm hoping an extra long nap tomorrow will knock the bug out of her. That way the girls can still enjoy some quality time with Nana on Wednesday and with Auntie Erin on Thursday.
And by quality time, I mean I might get to take a nap.

Abby's 3rd Birthday
Abby's 3! I can hardly believe it! We had her party this past weekend and it turned out beautifully. The weather was perfect, the food was tasty, Abby picked a perfect cake and the presents were very popular!

More 4th
Here's a video of the grand finale fireworks display. Dana may have a second career here!
4th of July
The 4th of July...what a holiday. I think it's Dana's 2nd favorite...because he gets to blow stuff up! This year, as pretty much every year since we started dating, we drove up to Nana and Papa's cabin to shoot off fireworks. We stopped on the way to the cabin, at our favorite place to buy the fireworks, and Dana picked out his stash. Here are some photos from the big event:

Pirate of the Couch
In addition to her current obsession with princesses, Abigail has also been introduced to the exciting world of pirates, thanks to Mr. Jakey Larson. We went over to Jake's house one afternoon and he wanted to dress up in his pirate regalia. Abby thought that was a great game and has since started stealing my scarves and asking me to color her chin with her washable crayons so she can have a pirate beard.

First Boat Ride
A few weeks ago, (I've been remiss in my updating duties), the girls got a very special treat - their very first boat ride! Uncle Rickie brought his boat down to Hastings and took us out for a spin. The girls had a great time, and once I got over my water/boat/girls nervousness, I had a great time too!
