Anni had her 2 year well check appointment on Monday. She did really well at the appointment until the very end...shot time. Boy does she hate those things! And boy do I hate that she has to get them. It makes for a very sad little girl and a rather flustered mama.
Anni weighed in at 23.4 pounds (10th percentile), 33.5 inches (41st percentile) and had a head circumference of 19.25 inches (84th percentile). Does this kid have some brains or what?

Anni's Birthday Party
We celebrated Anni's 2nd birthday this past Saturday. Luckily, the weather held out for us (again) and I think Anni had a really great time. Here are some shots from the party:

Sleeping Beauties
We had a play date last week with our friends Cole, Caleb and Olivia. Normally after a play date the girls are exhausted and I'm pretty much guaranteed a killer nap. Well, on this particular day, they were crazier than usual, just bouncing off the walls. I finally just popped in a movie, so they could at least have some quiet time. I went to do some laundry and here's what I came back to, about 10 minutes into the movie:

More Snippets
This afternoon, the girls had a grand old time running through the sprinkler. I took advantage of their preoccupation and brought my book outside with me. At some point, the girls decided it was really fun to get big sticks and get them all wet in the sprinkler. A few moments later, I realized Anni particularly liked getting her stick wet and chewing on it:
Me: Anni, don't chew on your stick.
Anni: Ok, Mama. (She then stuck the stick in her mouth)
Me: Anni, do NOT put that stick in your mouth!
Anni: Oh, otay. (Seconds later the stick is back in her mouth)
Me: Anni! If you put that stick in your mouth again, I'm taking it!
Anni: Read your book, Mama!

Inside Baby
Yesterday was another check up for the youngest Schmidt child. Everything looks good! My blood pressure was just fine...low as always. Baby's heart rate was about 150. Baby was moving around like crazy too, while the doc checked the heart rate. A quick glucose test showed all my sugar levels look fine too. Apparently Ms. Baby (I'm assuming based on heart rate and past results) is just making me thirsty...I wonder if she's got a thing for pretzels?

Here are some conversation snippets from the girls the other day:
Anni: I WANT DORA!
Me: Just a moment please!
Anni: DORA!
Me: Ok, bossy!
Anni (shaking her head with a big smile): No, I Anni!
Abigail: This dinner is not bad at all, Mommy!
Me: Well, thank you, Abigail.

Inside Baby
Big night last night! I felt the baby kick for the first (and about 50th) time! Little one has a good pair of legs, that's for sure! It'll be a while before you can feel the kicks on the outside (sorry Gigi), but that time will be here soon enough.
Next check up Monday morning.

7 Days!
As most of you know, we've been working on the potty training in our house. And work it has certainly been, although I think more so for me than for Abigail. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to try and make her go potty on the potty: bribery, secret treats, telling her she's gets to teach the new baby how to go potty, etc., etc.
Well, the secret treats (usually something in the chocolate family) seem to have been working and when it seemed like the training was really catching on, I told her if she could go 7 days with no accidents, then we'd go to Target and she could pick out a present for herself.
MISSION COMPLETION! (That's from Little Einsteins, for those of you who recognize the phrase.) Abby made it a whole week (plus another day yesterday) with no accidents! Not only that, but she tells me when she has to go potty, instead of the other way around!
I'm so excited I can barely stand it!
