Daddy's Girl

Anni's really working on her words these days and she's getting really good at stringing 2 or 3 words together. Whenever she starts naming something, she likes to attach a person to it. So, if she points to her knee, she says "Anni's knee" and then goes on to "Abby knee" "Daddy knee" etc.

Well, the other day, we were working on "boy" and "girl" and I was explaining to her that she was a girl and Daddy was a boy. She pointed to herself and said, "Daddy girl". I said, "Daddy's a girl?" She shook her head, pointed to herself again and said, "Daddy girl." I said, "You're Daddy's girl?" She nodded happily and has been calling herself Daddy's girl ever since. And if you've ever had the pleasure of seeing Anni greet her daddy when he gets home from work, you know a truer statement has never been uttered.

I did have the pleasure of witnessing the "daddy welcome" on Wednesday -- very impressive -- and I'm willing to bet it might just be the best part of Dana's day...every day.
